point of inflection

as stated in class, there are may be incorrect interpretations of point of inflection online, however many of the interpretations are correct:

wikipedia: a point on a curve at which the curvature or concavity changes sign (up to down)

mathworld.wolfram.com: An inflection point is a point on a curve at which the sign of the curvature (i.e., the concavity) changes

calculus: Thus there are often points at which the graph changes from being concave up to concave down, or vice versa. These points are called inflection points

these seem correct but someone comment if any of these are not

  1. I have been pleasantly surprised by Wikipedia, I must say: I have found very few errors generally speaking and, yes Casey, they are correct in this case. Otherwise, the Wolfram Math site is always a good source and quite reliable.
