Can you Lie?

When you check the box agreeing that you have read the terms and conditions are you lying to the machine? Or what is lying? Is it possible to lie to a machine, why or why not? Please post but also taking into account that when you lie to a machine you are also lying to yourself.  Even though a person will never now that you lied to a computer is it still considered lying?

    Hmm touche Brian! This comes up in the mock trial case im doing right now, and as I am a lawyer i prove the person lied to both themselves and the school because they check the box saying they read the terms and conditions! So at least in a court of law this is defiantly lying! I don't think its different than any other cases of lying, at least not on a basic principal level.
