Economic Factors/ Algebraic, or Not?

Well I think I can personally finish my prediction now that we learned about combination and everything more in class. Im thinking the best way to compile the full class thoughts would be to open a new side discussion or something like that on the blog here. I don't really know how to do that, but I think the placement would be the easiest access for us to upload our stuff. Also we could pmail and email links to everyone at Park.

The non-algebraic stuff in class today was pretty interesting. It was hard to grasp what the premier diffrence was at first, but Im glad Mr. Fedirko made us come up with it ourselves. I guess its pretty obvious now that I understand, but Ive never thought of it before. The whole idea is that exponential, trig and other functions are not algebraic becouse they are natural based and do not come up with exact answers. Their graphs do weird things like form asymptotes and grow at a exponential rate. They are also pretty cool because they have really existed forever, and humans discovered them, instead of invented them, like conventional algebraic functions. Im pretty exited to learn more about how they can differ, and what unique things they do.

  1. I was thinking that we compile a pdf document with all of our predictions in it. We can each have a chapter that is our economic indicator. That way if we want to reference each other's project we are able to do so.

  2. That works, we could put it on a link under resources here on the blog.

  3. Yeah that sounds good. I was also thinking we should do peer edits or maybe have a class discussion about the different topics so it would not be just one viewpoint on the topic.

  6. Thank you Tashi, Julian and Khari: I agree. Let's arrange a link or separate page to our collected report on the "State of the Economy" and share information between both classes before the end of the semester.

  7. We can also just combine all of our excel sheets into one file with multiple sheets. I did all of my extra work that didn't help my project on a separate sheet in the same file so that I couldn't lose it. Instead we can just have the multiple sheets in one file and put the document out for public use.

  8. That's a good idea Khari, I have a lot of data in exel. I'm not sure that everyone used exel though I think some people used online versions.
