From what we learned in class and what the textbook reviewed on pg. 220, the Intermediate Value Theorem is showing that if you have a countably infinite function (on a closed interval like the graphs on 220) and you take any point in between the lowest and highest point shown, there is a number in the interval that is equal to the point in between IF you plug it into the function. By using the Intermediate Value Theorem you find the zeros withing the function.
